MK-677 is a small-molecule agonist of the growth-hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR, the ghrelin receptor). In receptor assays it couples to Gαq/PLC signaling, and it is used as a research tool to probe GHSR pharmacology and the somatotropic (GH/IGF-1) signaling axis in model systems.
Research context
Both compounds are used as mechanistic probes in preclinical models. Reported findings are model-system observations characterizing enzymatic or receptor signaling and are not indicators of any human outcome.
